Lukas IP stresses strategies that are results-oriented, employing innovative, pragmatic and expeditious solutions while recognizing that the success of these strategies depends upon close coordination with the client. Lukas IP regularly meets with in-house directors of intellectual property, presidents and vice-presidents as well as inventors and investors to set objectives and IP strategies, including developing IP budgets. Lukas IP initiates periodic review sessions with its clients to measure progress against objectives and assure that the client’s objectives are being met quickly.

Cost-Effective Solutions

While providing intellectual property services of preeminent quality, Lukas IP pays close attention to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of its services. Lukas IP works closely with its clients to create budgets, forecasts, estimates and control expenses.

Lukas IP prides itself in the cost-effective allocation of resources and its overall emphasis on cost consciousness. Lukas IP seeks to hire staff who demonstrate their own conviction and ability to provide Lukas IP quality and cost-effective services. Lukas IP has been out front working with clients to develop mutually beneficial alternative fee arrangements. Lukas IP has undertaken a number of matters of varying size on a fixed-fee basis and remains open to such arrangements, believing that they require careful, mutual considerations as well as close cooperation with the client to realize the potential mutual benefit.

An important component of the Lukas IP service commitment is ensuring that the fees charged are consistent with the value they bring to each project. All services are performed on a most efficient and cost-effective basis.

Fixed-fee arrangements with adjustable caps for patent applications and other services are offered and are based on the technical complexity of each individual patent application. Caps are mutually negotiable and detailed hourly time records are submitted for all work performed. The fixed-fee arrangement is intended as a client service to provide greater certainty in the pricing of each project while simultaneously providing quality services at an hourly rate that does not place undue pressure for meeting the fixed-fee goal.

Lukas IP offers these alternative billing arrangements to underline a comitment to superior client service and a commitment to build a strong client relationship through the provision of flexible and innovative billing methods and quality service.
